Close the tray and place it on a level freezer shelf. Leave space around it so nearby packages do not press on the lid, and allow extra freezing time because temperature settings and water volume vary.

Just before serving, let the tray rest briefly at room temperature and press each cavity from the bottom. Avoid sharp tools and excessive twisting. Transfer unused ice to a clean container and wash and dry the tray after use.
